Model 1894 carbine in 30-30 caliber. This is a very nice Winchester lever action rifle (#702), with almost 90% original bluing left on the barrel and magazine metal parts. The receiver also has good covering, with slight wear from carrying, underneath on the serial number. There is one small smudge on the left receiver side. The wood is all solid, but someone has stippled portions of the forearm and tang for decoration, and to help against having the stock slip out of their hands. The bore on this rifle is excellent, bright and shiney, and all internal parts function perfectly. A serial number of 1959030 places production of this carbine in 1953. The 30-30 is the most common caliber for this type of rifle and the ammunition is still readily available. This pre-64 model would make a perfect hunting rifle, is reasonably priced, and will maintain Collector value.
